Maps, Mazes & Adventures

We love maps! Here the children are spontaneously all drawing the loop trail that we had just walked at Priest Pt Park-- we call this particular loop "The Longest Trail"-- which makes it kind of epic. Some have included spots where we stopped. It's a fun peek into how each child experienced the twists and turns. Some draw a bumpy texture with the ups and downs of topography while others have one long flowing line. The children have also been drawing a lot of maps of mazes and sometimes work together to tell the story of what happens when they encounter a monster or an avalanche in the maze. One of our younger students that is now starting to speak in full sentences said the other day, "I just love mazes!"
